For the whole of my life, I have been captivated by the built environment that formulates our world. The immense amount of detail, work, and history that goes into the creation of the architecture we subserviently observe each day is why I’m drawn to architectural photography. It’s a medium in which you can showcase through your lense, your specific viewpoint, why these structures around us are so interesting, so important to observe. In capturing this photo, taken in Paris in 2025, I was walking down a quiet alley, noticing the immense beauty of all the structures around me. I paused at the one building shown in the photo for a few minutes, taking in the detail, thinking about the amount of time someone put into creating it, and pondering over the historical significance of the building. At that exact moment, the light of the sun shown through and perfectly illuminating the details to which I had been so fascinated by, providing the perfect opportunity to take my photo.
