In Between

In Between - Home Revelations

This work explores how the familiar and everyday shape our perception of ourselves. Inspired by Klimt’s painting, it reflects on the idea of an identity that dissolves into its surroundings while simultaneously being shaped by them. It speaks to the sense of invisibility within one’s own home and the connection between the ordinary and the introspective.

A Courtyard Walk

During our childhood, my sisters and I cherished annual summer visits to our Italian family, but as the years passed, these trips became less frequent. Each journey was a heartfelt attempt to preserve the cherished memories of a place that felt like a second home, despite the physical distance. In 2022, after COVID-19 restrictions eased, I finally returned to Trofarello after six years. This visit stirred deep emotions, compelling me to photograph my Nonna, who has Alzheimer’s. I also grappled with the complex feelings of being back after losing my Nonno during COVID-19 in 2020.

Our heritage: garbage

I did a photography project titled "Our heritage: garbage." Inspired by world-famous artworks, I recreated them while integrating pieces of garbage. With my photo project, I aim to raise people's awareness of the waste issue. I am particularly concerned with the question: What can we leave as a legacy to future generations if not just trash?

700 Million Years

As humans, we strive for longevity and perfection whilst overlooking the simplicity of sea creatures such as these. Jellyfish existed long before us, long before even the dinosaurs, they are some 700 million years in the making, simply moving gently with the tides, some evolving to live forever.
